Episode 103: Unifying branching network laws, but missing mechanisms

Summary:

We work harder at connecting the stream ordering descriptions of Horton and Tokunaga, showing only two parameters matter. We then show how all branching network laws connect through a range of scaling relations. Moving away from laws of the mean, we extend all stream order laws to distributions, and we finish with a brief tour of models proposed over the years and the lack of a universal story for river network patterns. Well described but not well explained.
