Episode 19: The structure of generalized random networks
Summary:
An introduction to random networks, the pure imagined and the impure real. We define standard random networks and work our way to a degree distribution of piscine nature. We move on to the configuration model and allow our degree distributions to be whatever they want to be. We then figure out the edge-degree distribution, see that our friends are strange and often better than us, and find a phase transition in the size of the largest component. We also travel in lies.
