Episode 10: Mandelbrot's tale of efficient language and more things
Summary:
We work on Mandelbrot's argument for optimal language encoding, setting things up with entropy. We show a power law emerges but things don't stack up as well as they do for Simon's model. Debian linux installation and the early growth of the Web provide evidence. We enjoy Benford's law with a detour into Stigler's Law of Eponymy, and start on Fundamentals of Complex Systems.

No slides. We should not have wandered into the High Sierra. Bad crash destroys the screen capture and sound recording at the end.
