Episode 11: The Dark Art of Generatingfunctionomancy
Summary:
We move through the basics of Probability Generating Functions, trying a few things out with some simple examples of coin flips and dice rolls. We computing averages and moments seeing how derivatives work, find out how to undo generating functions, and figure out how summing of variables works (convulutionaramis). For random networks, we determine the condition for a giant component in the numinous ways of generating functions.
